In short, we save your home by getting there, getting the water turned off, and draining the system off so it doesnt get any more water introduced into their house and do more damage. Before we ever get there, we give you instructions on how to mitigate the damage. We tell you not to flush the toilet, not to run faucets, and so on. Sewage is very deadly, so if it starts getting up against the walls and trim, you could be looking at hiring a company to redo your walls. We are your first line of defense against such a devastating surprise.
Roots on old systems tend to be the biggest problem. Homeowners tend to plant trees right on the main sewer line. We dont know why, but they do. So if youre getting whole house stoppage, the majority of the time its going to be roots in the line.

If its an old cast iron line, you could already have settling where the pipe now has a belly and it holds all the waste and paper. The most common cause of stoppages is the use of wet wipes. If you look at the box, it said that most of the time it says flushable. These wipes do not dissolve, they do not flush. Theyll stop up the line. They wont flow with the water.
If youre having stoppages on a regular basis, we come in and inspect the line with a camera to figure out why youre having stoppages; whether its root intrusion, a belly, or an area holding water. Thats going to prevent you from getting sewer back up into your house and having sewer water spill over everywhere.
Brown water, that means your tank is rusting out and you need a new tank. A sulfur smell usually means you have an anode rod out, which can typically be replaced unless your water heater is very old.

Weve seen installs where the plumber used flex lines for the temperature and pressure. We wouldnt do that because its a cheap, inefficient shortcut. We like our work to look good and work well. We will do the job to code the first time, and we will leave it looking nice.
Common signs you have a leak can include warm spots on your floor. You could have cold spots, but not normally unless its winter. If your foundation has been compromised and its got some cracks in it, water will start coming up through the floor and your tile or other stuff will start getting wet.
There is no argument. Fill valves and flappers and the most common things to break on a toilet. Usually, if the fill valve is the problem, the toilet will continue to run or itll get some debris in it and it wont fill the toilet up at all. Flappers are in the bottom of the tank. They have a gallon and a half of water pushing down on them, its common that they end up getting deformed and leaking.
Repiping is usually necessary when you have slab leaks or if you have an older system. Plumbers used to use galvanized water lines, which is an obsolete system. So, if its a case of a galvanized system, you need to get that replaced because youre introducing lead and rust into everything you drink. If its a slab leak, its always better to reroute everything above because if not, youre compromising your foundation by jackhammering it.

Wayne was an awesome plumber. His prompt phone call back to me and then his ability to schedule me in a semi emergency was a blessing. He was very thorough and tiddy! Thanks again Wayne for coming over and saving my bacon

Wayne from DWV Plumbing Services replaced my water heater today. He arrived promptly when he said he would and had the new heater on his truck. The work went smoothly and looks great. He also replaced the flex lines which connect the tank because the old lines were not solid metal and were too close to the gas flue. He had changed out two toilets for me a couple of years ago and the work then was also excellent.

I called DWV Plumbing Services to come out and fix a leak under my bathroom sink and Wayne was there within 30 minutes. He replaced all the pipes under my sink, cleared the pipe in the wall and even cleaned up the mess the leak had made and took care of it very quickly. I would recommend DWV Plumbing Services to anyone needing plumbing work done. Thank you again so much.

Wayne has been great to work with. He communicates really well, gives a solid price, often with a few options at various price points if you need to save some money, but never to the detriment of the job. The work is done right. I trust him to work in my house even if no one is home. Call him.
